All About Peru

The official name of Peru is the Republic of Peru. The capital of Peru is Lima, and the official language is Spanish. Some of the largest cities in Peru are Lima, Cuzco, and Iquitos. The Peruvian State flag has two vertical stripes of red, with a vertical white stripe in the middle. In the white band there is the Peruvian coat of arms. In 1825, this flag replaced a previous one through a law of national symbols. José Gregorio Paredes and Francisco Javier Cortes designed the coat of arms. The Peruvian government is a Presidential Republic.
